I have been told by someone that my blog was dead and so...
WELCOME to my blog once again, a site whereby the owner posts on whims. Anyway, it has already been 10 days since I have come back from India and I kinda am still having the India blues. Thinking of elaborating on my trip...
We (my mom, sister and I) were away from 22nd November to 17th of December. First, we were off to Mumbai by aeroplane where my Uncle lives. The 5 hours in the plane was great as I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua the movie. It taught me that never ever rely on Chihuahuas in times of danger! Anyway, when i first smelled the kerosene like air in India, I felt rejuvenated. Reminded me of home. And so, it was another 1 hour ride to my uncle's place, at the top of a hill. (Seriously reminds me of ZHPS. Only difference-Uncle's house was on a higher hill).
I reached home and I dashed towards the balcony and looked down as i always do to see the slums (squatters) . However what impressed me was the development of a HDB like building for those living in the slum. Nice thinking eh, government. Along with that there also was the Ambani building. For those who do not know abt the Ambani bulding, it is a 27 storeyed building with all sorts of facilities like swimming pools, movie theaters, etc. India's richest man, Mr Mukesh Ambani, has gifted this building to his wife.
Anyway, the next day, we embarked on a journey to Baroda (where my maternal grandparents live) We went there by an air-conditioned train. It took abt 6-7 hours to reach. However we directly rushed to the nursing home where my grandfather was admitted. Thankfully and touchwood, it wasn't too serious.
Merely 4 days later, the Mumbai terror attacks happened.
I would like to say that the whole of India is proud of her martyrs, who had sacrificedtheir lives for the well- being of the nation.
Moving on, we met our dearest Dadu and Didu (our grandparents) after an extremely LONG YEAR. Along with that, we had also met our neighbours after THREE YEARS. How our holidays passed, we never knew. It just whizzed by. I posted about the trip a little late, my sister got to it first. The rest of our trip is outlined on her blog: http://dreamz-n-filmz.blogspot.com
Tomorrow is school. Exciting and saddening too, I guess! I brought some souvenirs from India. They are the ads which are shown in India. Enjoy and the best of luck!
This is the first post after a millenium of hiatus. Nice vocab eh? I've decided that I wouldnt be blogging like my sis does. Its this way...or nothing. I suppose.
